Routing (1 night Nairobi, 1 night Lake Naivasha, 3 nights Maasai Mara, drop off Nairobi & depart)

Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi

Arrival, meet and greet – Nairobi. Upon arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta Airport, you will be met by our airport representative and transferred to your city hotel for overnight. Our rep will take you through a brief pre-safari orientation before embarking on your dream safari adventure of Kenya. Dinner on own arrangement. Overnight in Nairobi – TAMARIND HOTEL OR EKA HOTEL. 

DAY 2: Nairobi – Lake Naivasha

After breakfast depart for Lake Naivasha commence drive to Lake Naivasha to arrive for lunch at the respective Lodge. Remainder of the day at leisure. Dinner and overnight at LAKE NAIVASHA SOPA LODGE 

Distance: Approx. 110kms – 1hrs drive

Lake Naivasha is surrounded by stands of papyrus and is a bird-watchers paradise.  Waterbirds exists in great variety and abundance and over 400 birds have been recorded on the lake. Fish eagles and ospreys, herons and egrets, lily-trotters, red-knobbed coots and black crakes can be found within the area of this beautiful lake, which also supports around 500 resident hippos and introduced sport fish including the Nile perch, the North American red swamp crayfish and various aquatic plants. 

OPTIONAL EXCURSIONS possible from Naivasha include visits to Hell’s Gate National Park, have a boat ride on Lake Naivasha and visit the Crescent Island, a curious peninsula /archipelago, depending on the lakes’ water level, which is filled with different species of herd animals and one is able to freely walk around the island. Also a visit to Elsamere, former home of Joy Adamson and a little further past Elsamere, the emerald green Crater Lake. This is one of the best places in the area to see Black and White Colobus monkeys and there is also fantastic swimming. 

DAY 3 Lake Naivasha – Maasai mara

After breakfast depart for Masai mara along the Great Rift Valley towards the Maasai Mara National Reserve. Stop along the way to soak up the view from a magnificent lookout, and then arrive at the park just in time for lunch. Later, set out on an epic evening game drive across the rich, tree-studded grasslands and rolling hills. The famous Maasai Mara is renowned for its great herds of black-maned lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, and virtually every type of Kenyan wildlife. Dinner and overnight – KEEKOROK LODGE MASAI MARA.

Distance: Approx. 275kms – 6hrs drive

DAY 4 & 5: Maasai mara

After a restful night’s sleep at your camp, enjoy a picnic style breakfast to set you up for day two. Head out on a full-day game drive, with a visit to the Mara River which is home to large concentration animals. Once you’ve worked up a bit of an appetite, have lunch at a viewpoint overlooking the crocodiles and hippos lazing in the river. Afterwards, you have the option to visit a Maasai cultural village to gain insight into the homes and social structure of the Maasai people as well as how they live in harmony with the environment and the animals. Dinner and overnight – KEEKOROK LODGE MASAI MARA

DAY 6: Masai mara – Nairobi 

After an unforgettable six-day experience, depart on the return journey to airport in Nairobi for departure flight.
