Amboseli National Park

Elephants – Amboseli is famous for its large herds of elephants, often seen walking in front of Mount Kilimanjaro. These gentle giants are one of the park’s main attractions, and you can see them up close during game drives.
Lions – The park is home to several prides of lions, often spotted lounging in the shade or stalking prey across the plains.
Cheetahs – These fast predators are occasionally spotted hunting or resting on termite mounds for a better view of potential prey.
Buffaloes – Large herds of African buffalo roam the park, often seen grazing in the grasslands or near watering holes.
Zebras and Wildebeest – Amboseli is home to plenty of zebras and wildebeest, which can often be seen grazing together in large numbers.
Giraffes – Towering over the savannah, giraffes are commonly seen nibbling on the tops of acacia trees.
Hyenas and Jackals – These scavengers can be spotted roaming the park, particularly in the early morning or late evening.
Birdlife – With over 400 bird species, Amboseli offers incredible birdwatching opportunities. Look for flamingos, pelicans, ostriches, and the striking African fish eagle.
Hippos – Found in the marshy areas, hippos often emerge from the water to graze at dusk and dawn.
Rhinos – Though rare, Amboseli is also home to a few critically endangered rhinos, part of ongoing conservation efforts.

Mount Kilimanjaro – The park’s most iconic feature, Kilimanjaro, towers over Amboseli’s flat plains. On clear days, the snow-capped peak provides a breathtaking backdrop, making it one of the most photographed views in Africa.
Vast Open Plains – Amboseli is known for its flat, open grasslands, making it easy to spot wildlife from afar. The sweeping views of the savannah create an authentic African safari experience.
Swamps and Wetlands – Despite being in a dry region, Amboseli has marshes and wetlands fed by underground water from Mount Kilimanjaro. These water bodies attract a variety of animals, especially during the dry season, and are great spots for wildlife viewing.
Sunrise and Sunset – Amboseli’s sunrises and sunsets are spectacular, with the golden light reflecting off the plains and Kilimanjaro in the background. It’s a perfect time for photography, offering dramatic landscapes and silhouettes of wildlife.
