This 4-day Kenya safari explores two distinct parks: Amboseli and Tsavo West. It’s a chance to experience classic African landscapes and diverse wildlife. In Amboseli, you’ll see large elephant herds with stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Then, you’ll travel to Tsavo West, known for its volcanic landscapes, unique springs and lava flows, and its history of man-eating lions. This trip combines classic wildlife viewing with dramatic scenery and historical interest.
Day 1: Nairobi – Amboseli
Pick up from your Nairobi hotel or Airport in the morning have a short safari briefing, then drive to Amboseli national park. Amboseli is famous for its scenery with a backdrop of snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro, which dominates the landscape, and open plains. Situated in the southern region of Kenya, Amboseli National Park stands as a renowned wildlife conservation area, enticing visitors with its stunning rich biodiversity and stunning landscapes. It is a home to iconic wildlife, hosting four members of the Big Five, from lions to the graceful zebras and countless number of bird species in its swamps and wetlands.
Amboseli is celebrated for its exceptional opportunities for close encounters with free-roaming members of the Big Five. The park is a home to large numbers of African elephants, creating the perfect opportunity for an up close view of up to fifty herds of elephants in one safari, making it a prime destination for both photographers and wildlife enthusiasts.
Amboseli has an endless underground water supply filtered through thousands of feet of volcanic rock from Kilimanjaro’s ice cap, which funnel into two clear water springs in the heart of the park.
You will arrive with a short game drive proceeding to your lodge. Arrive for lunch, afternoon game drive in the park, which is home to large herds of Elephants and other wildlife. Dinner and overnight at Oltukai Lodge.
Day 2: Amboseli National Park
After breakfast you will take a full day game drive or split early morning and evening game drives. At its best, Amboseli is magnificent, and it’s the beautiful mix of landscapes and habitats that enables the park to shelter such amazing wildlife. Amboseli inhabits a vast basin with deep-green swamps in the heart of the park, stands of acacia forest in the east, and expansive savannah grasslands stretching all the way to distant hills and mountains. Mt Kilimanjaro (actually in Tanzania) towers gloriously over the park to the south.
All meals and overnight at Oltukai Lodge.
Day 3: Amboseli- Tsavo West
After breakfast depart for Tsavo West National Park. The park like its counterpart Tsavo east National park are the two national parks that form the great Tsavo National park. The park is known as “ Land of Lava, Springs, Man-eaters and Magical Sunsets”. Its popularity is based on the man eating lions that killed hundreds of people during the construction of the Railway line and the highway during the colonial era. Tsavo West national park is the second largest national park in Kenya covering an area of 9,065 square kilometers. It’s separated from Tsavo East national by the A109 highway that connects Nairobi to Mombasa. The park is also a home of over fifty million gallons of crystal clear water that comes from under parched lava rock. The park is more scenic than Tsavo East national park with rouged mountainous areas. The Mzima springs and the Shetani lava flows are unique attractions found at the park.Tsavo West national park is wetter than Tsavo East national park.
You will arrive Tsavo West with Game drive en-route proceeding to your lodge for lunch and check inn. Afternoon game drive of this park then dinner and overnight at the Kilaguni Serena Lodge.
Day 4: Tsavo West – Nairobi
Early Morning game drive then breakfast. After breakfast depart Tsavo West for Nairobi to arrive in the early afternoon. Drop off at the Airport or a hotel of your choice.
