This classic seven-day road safari takes you through four of Tanzania's most celebrated wildlife destinations, from the ancient baobab forests of Tarangire to the mist-wrapped rim of Ngorongoro Crater, across the legendary open plains of the Serengeti, and down to the flamingo-fringed shores of Lake Manyara. Africompass pairs you with expert multilingual guides fluent in English, Spanish, Chinese, German and French, ensuring every sighting and every story is shared in the language closest to your heart. Comfortable lodge accommodation, carefully selected for their setting and service, will greet you at the end of each game-filled day. This is a safari designed for travellers who want depth, variety and the confidence that every detail has been arranged with care.
Your Africompass guide will meet you at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transfer you directly into Tarangire National Park, named for the life-giving river that sustains one of Africa's richest wildlife ecosystems. Upon arrival you will embark on your first afternoon game drive among towering baobabs and ancient rock kopjes, with elephant, zebra, buffalo, giraffe, lion and an extraordinary variety of birds all likely to appear before the day is done.

The morning will begin with an early game drive through Tarangire, weaving between baobabs and acacias to seek out large ground-dwelling birds, raptors soaring over the dry plains, and the rare African wild dog. After returning to the lodge for a leisurely breakfast, you will depart for the highlands and wind your way up to the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater, where your lodge will greet you with sweeping views over the ancient volcanic basin some 600 metres below.

A full day will be devoted to descending into the floor of the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site sheltering approximately 25,000 animals within its ancient caldera walls. You will traverse open grassland, acacia woodland, hippo pools and the shores of Lake Magadi, where columns of pink flamingos gather alongside abundant waterbirds, and where rare black rhinoceros move freely and allow close, unhurried observation. The evening will bring wonderful crater-rim views from your private terrace, a warm fireside dinner and an optional cultural program with local Maasai people.

Departing the crater rim, you will cross into the Serengeti, a name synonymous with wildlife spectacle on a scale found nowhere else on Earth. The journey itself will offer rolling vistas of sparse golden savannah as you enter the park, and on arrival at your lodge a delicious lunch will await before an afternoon game drive sets you searching for lion, leopard, cheetah and the vast herds of wildebeest and zebra that migrate across these plains throughout the year.

A full and thrilling day of game viewing will carry you across the Serengeti's most rewarding habitats, from the hippo pools and lazy crocodiles of the Seronera Valley to forested kopjes where leopards and colobus monkeys share the tree canopy. Expansive grasslands will reveal lions resting in the midday shade, and river crossings will draw large animals seeking water in the afternoon heat. Back at the lodge, the infinity pool, exceptional food and the possibility of an evening Maasai cultural program or guided nature walk will round out a remarkable day.

The day will open with a final game drive across the Serengeti before breakfast and the journey south to Lake Manyara, a jewel of the Great Rift Valley where a shallow alkaline lake draws flamingos, pelicans and over 400 species of birds. An afternoon game drive through the park's dense groundwater forest and open floodplains will reveal tree-climbing lions, elephant, buffalo, hippo and troops of baboons, and a Maasai village visit will add a rich cultural layer to your final evening on safari.

After a final breakfast at the lodge you will depart Lake Manyara and make your way to Arusha, where a farewell lunch at a well-regarded local restaurant will celebrate the journey you have just completed. Your Africompass guide will then transfer you to Kilimanjaro International Airport in good time for your onward or international flight.
