Tsavo National Park is the largest national park in Kenya, covering an area of over 22,000 square kilometers. It is divided into two parts: Tsavo East National Park and Tsavo West National Park.
Tsavo is home to an incredible diversity of wildlife, including the Big Five (lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos, and buffalo), as well as cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, crocodiles, and over 500 species of birds.
Visitors to Tsavo National Park can enjoy a variety of activities, including game drives, walking safaris, birdwatching, and cultural visits to Maasai villages.
The best time to visit Tsavo National Park is during the dry season (June to October), when the weather is mild and the animals are concentrated around water sources. However, the park is worth visiting year-round.
Tips for visiting Tsavo National Park:
- Wear comfortable shoes and clothing.
- Bring sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses.
- Bring a camera.
- Be respectful of the animals and the environment.
